Our first…

Life is amazing, for it is full of a seemingly endless supply of firsts. Firsts for you, firsts for me, really firsts for anyone who wants them. Everyday is an infinity (∞) pool overflowing with options, choices, possibilities, and firsts. It’s not intended to be overwhelming, on the contrary…perhaps. I’m not sure it’s meant to be anything. Much like and unlike this blog.

Tonight was our first…

Coming down from the sugar high of a lifetime bedtime extravaganza! You thought I was going to say Halloween didn’t you? This is not a blog about Halloween, oh no, this is a blog about the time between trick-or-treat and rack-monster-zzz’s.

“ROAR!” She proclaims as the sugar fall weakens her. How can she ever fight off the rack monster now?

“Candy… Where the fuck is the candy? Who hid the gawds damn candy? I worked my ass off tonight for that bounty. You think I wanted to thank all those creepy people handing out candy? Somehow it’s okay to take candy from strangers if they’re dressed up scary. Seriously?”

While Marti searches for meaning in the disappearance of her hard-earned bounty of sugary stimulation, you readers may be searching for meaning in this blog. Don’t take this the wrong way… What I mean to say is… I’m afraid I might be about to let you down…sorry (whisper).

The fact of the matter is that this blog may very well be about nothing. But what it lacks in content, it more than makes up for in cute pictures of my daughter. There’s a portion (majority) of this readership that simply cannot get enough photographic evidence of the Martician’s life. A life that is amazing.

There was no violent crash…just an absurd number of things on her list pre-bedtime to-do list. She was happy to leave the candy in the back of her mind as she showed her dominance in the guise of grooming.

All I could do was sit back and watch as she groomed her Momma. Watch as she burned through the sugary goodness and slowly fell into a sugar crash coma.

What a great crash to have…slowly coming down from the highest of highs in a Zen like way of Momma grooming.

And the end?

Well everyone’s asleep, aside from me. Listening to Mingus in a medicated mood. Writing this substanceless blog. Working out my next five moves in the game of my mind vs. the excess of candy in the kitchen.

Riveting stuff, people…riveting.

  1. As usual incredible pictures of a truly amazing child and mother. As far as for riveting stuff…such is life. It is all riveting which is why we hang around…just to see what’s next. 🙂 Thanks!!!

  2. I was riveted enough to read to the end, enjoying your prose and your photos, and seeing how much of her mother she is 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
